After a night with his fiancée at the Crown Casino Hotel in Melbourne, Mark Brody is detained by police early the next morning. Learning of his charge – that of his fiancée's rape and premeditated murder, his immediate thoughts race to Ying. Her face, laugh, and body, full of spirit, alive just hours ago – as if conjuring a beautiful woman's essence in such detail will somehow bring her back by sheer force of will.

Robert Larken has been exploring the world of different cultures and describing them, in combination with detective stories. He is the author of 5 books, which he wrote in Polish: ‘Journey to Love’, ‘Tropical Treason’, ‘An Emigrant’s Love - The Law of the Boomerang’, ‘Adult Centre – The Life of Possums’ and ‘A Visit With the Lord God’. Larken’s books are full of adventure, action, criminal sensation and are a psychological reflection of life and human nature. Robert Larken was born in Cracow, Poland. At the Jagiellonian University (PhD in1977) he worked for 17 years as an academic teacher lecturing on criminal law, criminology and forensic science. In 1991, he decided to change his life by moving to Australia. He completed a Masters of Arts in Tourism at RMIT in Melbourne in 2000. Travel and tourism became the new great passion, both in theory and in practice. Robert Larken is able to combine and use his knowledge of tourism and criminology in his novels.
